snap bracelets for snap bracelets sake

Turbo Kid contains nothing more than 80’s nostalgia and gore.  There is no meaningful plot, no memorably characters, no notable lines, nothing even approaching the realm of thematic exploration, and truly very little entertainment.  If you like snap bracelets for snap bracelets sake and want to see really fake gore-filled dummies blowing up, showering fleshy red stuff over cheap sets, then watch Turbo Kid.  Otherwise choose the much more reasonable path and don’t watch Turbo Kid.

Quick question: was the 80s a decade more packed with junk than others?  Did people just collect useless plastic toys and knickknacks?  I’m too young to know, I guess.

Addendum:  Graham reminded me that there is one scene that is genuinely clever and funny; it’s when the android girl demonstrates fighting techniques to the protagonist.  Nothing quite like a good punch to the throat.
